Black Marble Hill Syrah

This deep red will pair perfectly with an oxtail stew or a succulent steak.

300L French oak barrels 80% new and 20% second fill. Barrel matured for 24 months. 12 months prior to release.

Cold maceration for two days before inoculation with selected yeast strain. Fermentation on the skins in stainless steel tanks. Regular pump-overs were done during fermentation. Malolactic fermentation done in stainless steel tanks.

Rhebokskloof is situated approximately 6 km northwest of the Boland town of Paarl. The farm lies within the folds of Paarl Mountain in a secluded valley that is predominantly northeast and northwest facing, with some vineyards planted as high as 340 m above sea level. Due to its location as a fairly warm wine region, 70 percent of the vineyards are red wine varieties and 30 percent white wine varieties. Shiraz, Pinotage, Chenin Blanc, and Chardonnay make up more than 75 percent of the varieties grown on the farm. Lesser-known varieties include Mouvédre, Durif, and Carignan.
