Shiner White

This full-bodied Franschhoek wine will shine when paired with roasted asparagus and artichokes, drizzled with a citrusy sauce and topped with herbs. White fish and shellfish are ideal for long, leisurely meals and plenty of glasses of our stunning Shiner. Grilled pork and chicken with tomato-based sauces are also fantastic choices for the freshness of the Sauvignon Blanc. Briny, fresh oysters and scallops sprinkled with dill and coriander will not go amiss with a crisp glass of this wine.

The wine is fermented in old oak and aged for just under two years with a portion of new French oak barrels. Semillon Gris is a unique phenomenon in viticulture. Green grapes turn red one year, then back to green the next. The berries are initially pink or black and when they change color, they are known as Semillon Gris. They have a very heavy intensity in them, with much more character than normal Semillon grapes. Semillon Gris has more longevity in a bottle, with a heavier feeling on the palate.
