The grapes are from Kasteelsig vineyard, owned by Billy (Guillermo) Hughes, and are organically certified. Soil is red Glenrosa with some Oakleaf – shale-rich duplex soils. The vineyards are not irrigated.

Malolactic conversion and maturation took place in small French and American oak barrels.

The grapes were fermented with natural yeast in open tanks (20% whole-bunches), with daily manual punch downs.

Painted Wolf Wines is a South African producer led by Jeremy and Emma Borg, with a strong focus on Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, Shiraz and Rhône varieties. The brand combines characterful Cape wines with a conservation mission, supporting the protection of African wild dogs and other endangered wildlife.
