Description
The 2021 Opus One displays seductive aromas of crushed cassis, blackberry, and black cherry with subtle hints of violet, vanilla, and baking spices. On the palate the wine enters bright and fresh, with concentrated flavours mirroring the nose. Mid‑palate texture is plush and creamy, supported by fine‑grained tannins. Supplemental notes of black tea, licorice, and dark chocolate extend through a long, lingering finish.
Food Pairing
Pairs wonderfully with rich red meats such as dry‑aged ribeye, roast lamb, or grilled beef. Also complements dishes with earthy components (mushrooms, truffle) and strong sauces. Hard cheeses with depth (aged cheddar, Gruyère) will stand up well. (Based on style and structure.)
