Metzer
Metzer Family Wines was established in 2006 by winemaker Wade Metzer, producing small-batch wines from vineyards across Stellenbosch and the Western Cape. Best known for Chenin Blanc and Syrah, Metzer focuses on expressive, site-driven South African wines made with minimal intervention, indigenous fermentation and a deep respect for vineyard and terroir.
Description
A beautiful delicacy on the nose with aromas of black cherries, dried cranberry, herbs as well as a hint of crushed rose petal. The Shiraz lends some meaty nuances and peppery spice to the blend while the Cinsault is responsible for the wonderfully fragrant aromatics. The palate is fleshy yet supple with a good density of fruit. The tannins are crunchy & persistent due to the whole bunch portion.
