Langhe Nebbiolo

Beef, Lamb, Poultry, Game (deer, venison)

The grapes for this wine come from several vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba, situated at 340 metres above sea level and covering a total of four hectares. The vines are Guyot trained and are approximately 20 years old, planted at a density of 5,500 vines per hectare. Soils are mixed but predominantly limestone.

Grapes were hand harvested. After 15 days of temperaturecontrolled fermentation at 31-34ºC in stainless-steel tanks, the wine was aged in traditional 'botti', or large casks, for over a year to convey smoothness and elegance. Massolino's aim is to make an approachable, easy drinking style of Nebbiolo which can be enjoyed immediately.

Massolino is a historic family-owned winery located in Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most prestigious communes of the Barolo DOCG region in Piedmont, Italy. The estate was founded in 1896 by Giovanni Massolino, who established the winery and played an important role in developing the village, even helping introduce electricity to Serralunga d’Alba. Today the winery is run by the fourth generation of the Massolino family, including Franco and Roberto Massolino, together with winemaker Paolo Vacca. The estate is internationally respected for producing traditional, structured Barolo wines that emphasize the terroir of Serralunga d’Alba.
