The grapes come from the Ygay Estate in Rioja Alta, with vineyards located at altitudes between 320 and 485 meters above sea level. The estate benefits from a continental climate, with the nearby Sierra de Cantabria providing protection from cold northern winds​.

This wine is aged for 24 months in American oak barrels and then further refined in the bottle for 24 months before release. The 2019 vintage is a blend of 87% Tempranillo, 6% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo, and 2% Garnacha, combining the best of traditional Rioja winemaking with modern techniques​.
