Description
Colour: intense crimson-red. Nose: complex and subtle, blackcurrant and plum followed by roasted coffee and cinnamon, cherry, morello cherry. Palate: opening into spicy (liquorice) and fruity aromas.
Food Pairing
Given its richness and spice + tannin structure, this wine would pair well with hearty meat dishes: grilled or roasted lamb, beef stews, game (venison), or dishes with rich sauces (e.g. a peppercorn or whisky cream sauce). Also good with aged cheeses.
