Lowerland Wines
We produce small batches of natural wines in a remote, semi-arid, high altitude region of South Africa. Lowerland is a mixed, holistic, family farm that produces a range of soil to soul products in a holistic, integrated flow. Vineyards are certified organic with Ecocert. We collaborate with winemakers who employ natural, Old World techniques such as whole bunch and natural fermentation, basket pressing, manual pump-overs, and gentle maturation in older French oak.
Description
Prieska might just be the perfect place for Cabernet Sauvignon. You will find classic Cabernet Sauvignon aromas on the nose, with a fragrant perfume on the back palate. A full-bodied palate with concentrated dark redberry flavours. The colder, later ripening period (March), cool river microclimate and high altitude where the vineyards grow have resulted in a fresh and crisp wine. The tannins in the Koedoe Cabernet Sauvignon are bold, yet elegant.

This wine pairs beautifully with succulent “Lowerland Rietskaap” lamb’s neck or any hearty stew.
