Lothian Vineyards is an Elgin producer specialising in cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Rosé. Set beside the Palmiet River and a private lake in the Kogelberg Biosphere, the estate focuses on site-sensitive winemaking that reflects the freshness and restraint of the Elgin Valley.
Description
Made exclusively from Pinot noir, the nose shows a more friendly and inviting character than the more traditional MCCs made with Chardonnay. The colour naturally reflects the Pinot Noir with a festive pink hue. The nose shows strawberry, pink grapefruit topped with grilled brown sugar ending with notes of a tropical mix. This brut wine has a soft easy entry and gives the impression of the addition of crème de cassis to make a Kir Royale. The sugars and acids are in fine balance and the flavours of ripe strawberries, cherry stone and caramel will put in an appearance.

Chicken Schnitzel. Rose sparkling wine works perfectly with anything fried and fat.
