Jean Roi Rosé

This versatile rosé pairs excellently with a variety of dishes, including grilled peaches with whipped goat cheese, fresh oysters with a soy dressing, and hot smoked trout Niçoise salad with wholegrain mustard dressing. ​

The grapes for this rosé are sourced from vineyards with limestone and clay soils, mirroring the terroir of Provence, France. The unique combination of these soils, varied terrain, abundant sunshine, and cooling winds contributes to the wine's distinctive character. ​

This wine is crafted to be enjoyed upon release but can develop additional complexity with short-term cellaring.​

Individual parcels were harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and cooled overnight. Only the finest quality free-run juice, with minimal color extraction, was selected and settled prior to spontaneous fermentation by indigenous yeast in stainless steel tanks and older French oak barrels (12%). The wine spent two months on fine lees before being blended and bottled.

Anthonij Rupert Wyne was founded on the farm L’Ormarins in Franschhoek. Originally owned by the late Anthonij Rupert who passed away in 2001 the farm was eventually taken over by his brother Johann Rupert in 2003 and the brand named after him. It was Johann Rupert who constructed a state-of-the-art winemaking facility catapulting the farm into a prestigious wine estate and the beginnings of what is now a sprawling enterprise. The focus is on terroir specific wines and therefore the ranges are made from a number of sites. Each site offers optimum varietal specific growing conditions allowing Anthonij Rupert Wyne to adhere to the requirements of their different brands.
