Pierneef Sauvignon Blanc

Grapes were harvested at 21–23° Balling. After approximately 16 hours of skin contact, fermentation occurred at 15 °C. The wine was racked off coarse lees and aged on fine lees for two months prior to blending and bottling in June 2024. Total production was about 4 000 cases of six bottles each.

Sourced from Elim vineyards in the Cape South Coast—the southernmost vineyards in Africa. Following a winter marked by two severe storms, the growing season began cool but recovered with a warm, dry summer, culminating in an earlier harvest. Soils are shale‑derived with gravelly topsoil and deeper layers of clay or “coffee rock.” Canopy management ensures balanced crop loads (~6 tons/ha).
