Harlan Estate
Harlan Estate, established in 1984 by Bill Harlan, is a distinguished winegrowing estate located in the western hills of Oakville, Napa Valley, California. The estate spans 240 acres, with approximately 40 acres under vine, primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The vineyards are situated on well-drained, hillside soils, contributing to the production of wines with exceptional depth and complexity.
Description
The 2014 Harlan Estate is characterized by a deep garnet-purple color. It offers subtle aromas of cassis, black cherries, and crushed blackberries, complemented by layers of forest floor, black soil, charcoal, dried herbs, violets, and rare beef. On the palate, it is full-bodied and robust, with muscular fruit and complex earth, savory, and spice nuances, culminating in an epic-length finish.
Food Pairing
This robust and complex wine pairs well with rich dishes such as grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses, complementing its bold flavors and firm structure.
