Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate
Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate is one of the most historic and prestigious wine estates in Franschhoek, South Africa. The estate's origins date back to 1694, when the original land grant was awarded by the Dutch East India Company, making it one of the oldest wine farms in the Cape Winelands. Located in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, Grande Provence combines centuries of winemaking heritage with modern viticulture and hospitality. The estate spans approximately 47 hectares of vineyards and is surrounded by the dramatic mountains that characterize the valley.
Description
The wine has a light gold colour. Tropical aromas of pawpaw combine with delicious hints of butterscotch. The nose shows a depth of complex scent which continues onto the palate. In the mouth the wine is rich and succulent providing a glycerol-like feeling. The acidity refreshes and underscores the long and enduring finish. This eclectic blend is a delicious food wine.
Food Pairing
This rich, complex wine needs to be savoured. Its vibrant acidity will cut through creamy dishes and rich cuisine. Salty cheeses will also be well suited to it.
