Glenelly
Winemaker Dirk and assistant Lehandri endeavour to make Glenelly wines as naturally as possible with wild yeast fermentation and little to no acidification. The team follows a minimal intervention approach to winemaking yet intensive sorting and care is taken when receiving the grapes. We use France’s most recognised coopers (mostly from Taransaud, Boutes and Sylvain) to ensure a gentle and precise elevage, preserving the identity of the terroir of Glenelly. Hygiene is of utmost importance in the cellar and a combination of both hot water and ozonated water is used for cleaning.
Description
The 2022 vintage of Glenelly Glass Collection Syrah showcases a vibrant, rich color with deep purple undertones. On the nose, it offers aromas of leafiness, spice, and delicate rose petals, complemented by pristine red berry fruit. The medium-bodied palate is balanced, featuring fine-grained tannins and subtle notes of white pepper and clove, culminating in a harmonious finish.
Food Pairing
This Syrah pairs well with grilled or roasted meats, such as lamb or beef, and dishes featuring spicy sausages. Its balanced structure and spicy notes also complement hearty stews and barbecued fare.
