Glen Carlou is a Simonsberg-Paarl wine estate known for Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and classic South African red blends. With vineyards rooted in granite, quartz and koffieklip soils, the estate produces wines shaped by site, structure and a long-standing focus on balance.
Description
Full and complex. Vibrant red fruit and cassis from the Cabernet Sauvignon combined with hints of Cabernet Franc’s tobacco leaf and bell pepper and a drop of Merlot’s plum and vanilla undertones. Explosive and evolving aromas of ripe black berries, leather and pencil shavings are followed by hints of cedar wood and cassis. The palate is brimming with dark fruit and peppermint chocolate, alongside of soft tannins and a velvety finish. A wine of great pedigree that will reward cellaring.
