The winemaking process for the Petite Classique emphasizes gentle extraction and careful aging to enhance the wine's elegant profile. The use of oak aging adds depth and complexity without overpowering the fresh fruit characteristics. The wine is crafted to be both immediately enjoyable and capable of developing more subtlety with short-term cellaring​.

The grapes are sourced from various vineyard blocks within the estate, each managed according to its unique potential. The vineyard's diverse slopes and aspects, combined with the region's warm climate, allow for optimal ripening conditions, resulting in fruit with concentrated flavors and natural balance.

The Glen Carlou Petite Classique 2022 is aged in French oak barrels, utilizing both second and third-fill barriques, for approximately 12 months. This method allows the wine to gain complexity and subtle oak characteristics, such as hints of vanilla and spice, without overpowering its fruit-forward nature. The use of older oak ensures that the primary flavors are complemented rather than masked by the oak influence, resulting in a wine that is elegant and refined.
