Côtes du Rhône Villages Laurus

This wine pairs excellently with classic meat dishes such as veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, and game. It also complements roasted, braised, or stewed dishes, sausage, barbecue, and cassoulet.

The grapes for this wine are sourced from selected parcels in the Gard and Vaucluse departments. In Gard, the vineyards feature rolled stones and clay sub-soil, allowing Grenache grapes to mature gently without hydric stress. In Vaucluse, limestone and sandstone soils provide a fresh spiciness to the Syrah, while south-exposed clay soils benefit the Grenache. The average age of the vines is 50 years, with some Grenache vines ranging from 60 to 90 years old.

Approximately 80% of the wine is aged for 15 months in 275-liter French oak "Laurus" barrels, which are one to two years old. This ageing process refines the wine's structure, enhancing its complexity and elegance while imparting subtle oak nuances.

Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes undergo partial destemming and crushing. The fermentation process includes a three-week maceration with punch-downs and pumping over to extract color, flavor, and tannins. This meticulous vinification process aims to preserve the wine's elegance and balance.

For each appellation and in keeping with the characteristics of the vintage our know-how is recognisable through our experienced blending of terroirs and grape varieties and through our careful maturing favouring purity of fruit and silkyness of texture. Already enjoyable in their first year after bottling the Crus also have good aging potential.
