Domaine Jean Chartron
Puligny-Montrachet based Domaine Jean Chartron was established in 1859, making it one of the oldest in the commune. The domaine today, is under the stewardship of 5th generation Jean-Michel & Anne-Laurie. They oversee some of the most prestigious vineyard parcels to be found in Burgundy, working across Villages level, Premier Cru and Grand Cru.
Description
With every vintage the Chevalier impresses with its metronome regularity. Under a pale whiteness it is enrobed by a perfume so Burgundian, wallflower’s hawthorn, sweet briar, almonds and a touch of pollen. Its pure framework exploits the depth of the ground as though we are tasting rocks. To close, finesse along this road of pleasure, an impressive salinity from a sensation as though one was tasting fleur de sel.
