Meursault 1er Cru Blagny

Pasta, Rich fish (salmon, tuna etc), Shellfish, Mild and soft cheese, Cured Meat

The hamlet of Blagny is located high on the hillside above Puligny Montrachet and Meursault and represents an entirely unique terroir. This 1er Cru vineyard is located directly adjacent to the 1er Cru “La Pièce Sous le Bois” overlooking the vineyards of Perrières and Puligny Champ Canet. Exposure is due east and soils are shallow marl and clay.

The young wine is aged for 14-16 months in a combination of 1/3 new and 2/3 used oak barrels.

Grapes are harvest by hand and sorted upon arrival at the domaine. Following primary fermentation.

Founded in 1825, Bourgognes Faiveley has been handed down from father to son for over 175 years. As the sixth generation to take the reins, François Faiveley manages, with equal amounts passion and competence, the largest family domaine in Burgundy. Methodically reconstructing vineyards fractured by French inheritance laws, Bourgognes Faiveley today owns more appellations in their entirety (monopoles) than any other domaine in Burgundy.
