The robust and powerful “Dame de la Pétoche” Cuvée comes from Old Madone vines which is vinified and aged in the old way.

It is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. The use of old barrels (4 to 5 years) gives it a fine woodiness which supports and rounds it while preserving its fruitiness. This ageing on fine lees feeds it, which makes it an excellent wine for ageing.

Domaine de la Madone is located on the renowned Madone slope in FLEURIE. This hillside is often considered by connoisseurs as the best of the local climates. It enjoys exceptional sunshine and its soil is made of pink granite suitable for the Gamay grape. This estate has been owned by the Despres family for 6 generations. Arnaud Despres produces various references in Fleurie as well as Viognier.
