The 2013 vintage benefited from a challenging growing season. A cold, wet winter followed by a late harvest (from September 28 to October 15) created wines that are vibrant, with high acidity and depth. The careful blend of 51% Chardonnay and 49% Pinot Noir from select Grand and Premier Cru vineyards captures the finesse and structure typical of Dom Pérignon​.

With its high acidity and structure, Dom Pérignon 2013 has the potential to age for 10-15 years or more, developing richer, more complex flavors over time.

Dom Pérignon follows the traditional méthode champenoise for fermentation. The wine spends nearly 8 years aging in the cellars, which contributes to its complexity and refinement. This vintage was disgorged in 2021, adding further layers of nuance.

Dom Pierre Perignon, a French Benedictine monk, set out his vision to "create the best wine in the world" when he became Cellar Master at the sacred Abbey of Hautvillers in 1668. Dom Perignon dedicated over 40 years to this mission, employing a visionary spirit and daring approach to the wine making process. Over that time, he became known as the ‘father of champagne’ for laying down the fundamental rules for the traditional Champagne production method (La Methode Champenoise or Traditionelle). A favored wine of the Sun King Louis XIV, Dom Perignon himself compared his wine to "drinking stars".
