Disaronno is an iconic brand known for its original amaretto liqueur, Disaronno Originale, which boasts a rich history dating back to the Renaissance. Originating in 1525 in the town of Saronno, Italy, the liqueur was first created by a student of Leonardo da Vinci, who gifted it to his hospitable innkeeper as a token of gratitude. The recipe was rediscovered in the early 20th century by the Reina family, who began producing it commercially.
Disaronno Originale is an Italian amaretto liqueur known for its rich almond flavor, despite not containing actual almonds. The primary flavors noted in Disaronno include toasted almonds, sweet vanilla, and hints of spices and herbs, creating a distinctive and indulgent taste profile. The liqueur is often described as having a sweet marzipan flavor with notes of caramel and a creamy, velvety texture that makes it enjoyable either neat, on the rocks, or as part of various cocktails.
