The idea behind this wine was to create something unique from the grapes that have basically been forgotten. South Africa has the largest area of Colombar planted in the world, but most locals have never tasted it. That’s because it all generally tends to go towards distillation and brandy production. There are multiple different cultivars like this in south africa, Originally planted for high yielding crops and now sit quietly forgotten on the outskirts. This purpose of this blend is to find those unappreciated grapes from lost vineyards around the cape and to give them a new purpose. I’ll try to add to and grow this blend every year.
