Brut Reserve

Pairs deliciously with oysters, sushi, and any delicate seafood.

This blend consists of 52% Pinot Noir and 48% Chardonnay grapes, and was created from an array of wines made from grapes grown in Franschhoek, Robertson and Elgin.

Each bottle of our Brut Reserve spends at least 30 months gently maturing in our cellar, at a consistent temperature of 14°C, before it is ready to start its journey to enjoyment.

20 % of the blend is made from reserve wines from previous vintages, specially selected to enhance its complexity, maturity and consistency over the years. 10% of the base wine was fermented in french oak barrels, contributing to the integrated acidity and structure.

The first time I set eyes on the mountains of Franschhoek I could never have imagined the future that lay ahead. It was the autumn of 2001 my family and I were looking for a new adventure and we had no doubt that we had found it here in the historic village of Franschhoek. On arrival Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards were planted on the farm however this was just the beginning. The construction of South Africa's first cellar to be solely dedicated to Cap Classique was next. As this was a unique project the cellar is also unique. It was designed with specific attention to detail that allows for the production and maturation of the very best bottle-fermented sparkling wines. On completion of the cellar building in 2005 the farm was ready for its first harvest in 2006. We released our first classic Colmant style bubbly in 2008 and have never looked back. Today we produce Cap Classique wines across six different blends all of which are featured on our Cap Classique collection page.
