Château Mangot was founded in 1546 and was purchased by the Todeschini family in 1976. The latest generation of the family overseeing management place a strong emphasis on reducing the environmental impact of farming. They are one of first to achieve organic certification in Saint-Émilion, eschewing the use of synthetics, insecticides & herbicides.
Description
The ‘Distique 9’ 2016 is a striking and distinctive Saint-Émilion, showcasing a vibrant nose of blue and purple fruits, lavender, dried herbs, and exotic spice. On the palate it is medium-bodied yet layered, with juicy blueberry, black cherry, subtle graphite and floral tones. The texture is polished and elegant, revealing depth and complexity, wrapped in supple tannins and fresh acidity. An expressive, individualistic wine with great balance and charm.
Food Pairing
This unique blend pairs well with duck breast with berry compote, grilled lamb chops, venison with juniper, wild mushroom tart, and aged goat cheese. Its floral and spicy character enhances both delicate and earthy dishes.
