Listrac-Médoc

Listrac is one of the six commune appellations of the Médoc located near Bordeaux. Listrac is deep France, France Profonde, as they say. Woods, streams, fields, vines, soft hills and marshes. It is the border limit between the River Country, which they once called Ribeyron, to the east, and the Land Country (Les Landes) to the southwest. It is full of undiscovered wines that many a French wine snob might overlook. But then we often fail to understand the beauty of our own wines. After all, it was the English who made Bordeaux so popular, importing vat loads of rich claret to eat with their Beef Wellington.

Fourcas-Borie is matured for 12 months, 20% in new oak barrels and 80% in one-year-old barrels. Our barrels are certified French oak, cured in open-air drying parks for a minimum of three years.
