Capensis
Capensis is a family of three wines dedicated exclusively to Chardonnay. The name Capensis is taken from the Latin word meaning,“from the Cape,” and pays homage to its home in the Western Cape of South Africa, one of the oldest winemaking regions in the world Ancient geology and dramatic landscape form the foundation for Capensis, which celebrates the diverse and remarkable winegrowing potential of the Western Cape.
Description
The 2021 Capensis Western Cape Chardonnay captures the interwoven typicity of five exceptional vineyard sites. A shawl of fragrant white flowers, tangerine zest and blooming mountain scrub wraps around a core of ripe yellow stone fruits. Seamless and poised, the palate shows beautiful richness that is balanced by an impressive tension and oyster shell minerality which concludes in a lime-toned saline finish.
Food Pairing
This wine would pair well with all kinds of seafood, chicken or turkey, especially dishes with a cream sauce.
