Cape Rock
Cape Rock Wines is situated between the towns of Vredendal and Klawer 300km north from Cape Town and 30 km inland from Doringbaai on the West Coast of South Africa. We grow a variety of red and white grapes such as Syrah Grenache Mourvèdre Carignan Cabernet Sauvignon Grenache Blanc Roussanne Marsanne Viognier and Colombard. The vineyards are located on a single 11-hectare farm just above the banks of the Olifants river floodplain.
Description
The wine is medium bodied with hints of graphite, cedar and cassis flavours on the nose. The tannins are soft and fine. The wine can be enjoyed from late 2018, but should last and improve for a further 5-8 years after release.
Food Pairing
The wine is ideal to be enjoyed on its own in winter or slightly chilled in summer evenings and will go well with firm cheeses, charcuterie, lamb or game dishes.
