Adama Red

The Adama Red 2022 pairs well with a variety of dishes, including gourmet pizzas, devilled chicken, and pork belly. Its robust flavors and balanced tannins make it a versatile companion for both casual and more elaborate meals​.

The grapes for this blend are sourced from the Wellington area in South Africa's Western Cape. The vineyards are characterized by a mix of varietals that thrive in the region’s Mediterranean climate, benefiting from well-drained soils and moderate temperatures. These conditions allow for optimal ripening of the fruit, resulting in wines with concentrated flavors and good acidity​.

The wine is crafted using a blend of Shiraz (47%), Mourvèdre (10%), Cinsaut (14%), Grenache Noir (5.5%), Nero d'Avola (7%), Tempranillo (6%), and Durif (6%). The diverse mix of varietals contributes to the complexity and depth of the wine. After fermentation, the wine is aged in a combination of oak barrels to enhance its flavor profile and structure​.

The Bosman family have a history of growing wine in the Bovlei of Wellington, dating back to 1810. Throughout eight generations they have worked hard to create a better life for all who live and work on the farm, rising to challenges and finding solutions, often in the unexpected. Wine is made in their historic 260 year old cellar, but their approach is progressive and innovative: a plant improvement unit ensures that Bosman remains at the forefront of the development of new, clean plant material and varietals; while their vine nursery ensures a continuous supply of healthy rootstock and vines.
