This versatile wine pairs excellently with rich, meaty dishes such as grilled lamb, beef stews, and game meats. It also complements aged cheeses and hearty vegetarian dishes. ​

The 2021 vintage experienced moderate weather conditions with optimal flowering and fruit set. The cooler growing season allowed for a slow and extended ripening period, resulting in excellent grape quality. ​

After harvesting, the grapes underwent careful vinification to preserve their distinct characteristics. The wine was aged in French oak barrels, which contributed to its complexity and depth. ​

Boekenhoutskloof was established in 1776. Located in the furthest corner of the beautiful Franschhoek valley the farm’s name means “ravine of the Boekenhout” (pronounced Book-n-Howed). Boekenhout is an indigenous Cape Beech tree greatly prized for furniture making. In 1993 the farm and homestead was bought and restored and a new vineyard planting programme was established that now includes Syrah Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc Grenache Semillon and Viognier.
