Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon

The robust structure and rich flavors of this Cabernet Sauvignon make it an excellent match for hearty dishes such as grilled beef, venison stew, and lamb chops. Its complexity also complements aged cheeses and roasted vegetables.​

The grapes for this wine are sourced from selected parcels of Stellenbosch vineyards planted on the north-western facing slopes of the Helderberg mountain and south-eastern facing slopes of the Polkadraai Hills. These sites feature deep decomposed granite soils with Table Mountain sandstone and "koffieklip," benefiting from mild maritime influences from the nearby False Bay coast.

After careful harvesting, the grapes underwent fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine was then matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, with 60% being new oak, to enhance its structure and complexity.

Boekenhoutskloof was established in 1776. Located in the furthest corner of the beautiful Franschhoek valley the farm’s name means “ravine of the Boekenhout” (pronounced Book-n-Howed). Boekenhout is an indigenous Cape Beech tree greatly prized for furniture making. In 1993 the farm and homestead was bought and restored and a new vineyard planting programme was established that now includes Syrah Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc Grenache Semillon and Viognier.
