Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine pairs beautifully with rich meats such as beef or lamb, especially when served with roasted vegetables or a red wine reduction​.

The grapes are sourced from selected vineyards in the Franschhoek Valley, where the region's alluvial soils and cool mountain breezes contribute to the elegance and structure of this Cabernet Sauvignon​.

The 2013 vintage is known for its excellent ageing potential. With careful cellaring, this wine can develop further complexity for up to 15 years​.

This wine was aged for 24 months in 100% new French oak barrels. The extended maturation in new oak adds depth and complexity, enhancing the natural fruit character while imparting notes of spice and toast.

Boekenhoutskloof was established in 1776. Located in the furthest corner of the beautiful Franschhoek valley the farm’s name means “ravine of the Boekenhout” (pronounced Book-n-Howed). Boekenhout is an indigenous Cape Beech tree greatly prized for furniture making. In 1993 the farm and homestead was bought and restored and a new vineyard planting programme was established that now includes Syrah Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc Grenache Semillon and Viognier.
