Treat yourself to a big Burgundy glass when tasting this wine. The size of the glass will allow its colour to disperse in shades of dark burgundy to scarlet and bright red current when the wine is swirled, with a deep broody ruby colour when you look closely. The wine introduces itself with a romantic perfume of sweet pea flowers, rhubarb, violets, and bergamot. There are also upfront and riper nuances of red apple, cranberry, plum, red cherry, and blueberry, hemmed with a warm spice of cinnamon, liquorice, and white pepper. Good management of post-fermentation characteristics adds a welcoming creaminess to the wine with Danish pastry toasted coconut and charry oak nuances. Quintessentially Bizoe, there is a burst of freshness on the palate. The wine's richness is kept in check with a luminous acid, adding vibrancy and energy. Its youthful character is more evident on the palate; with time, it will soften and fully integrate. Still, the wine is very approachable with excellent ageing potential. Albeit dry, the balance between the acidity and alcohol adds a slippery sweetness building the midpalate and adding to the wine's persistence. At the same time, ripe and fine-grained tannins add structure. The wine is medium bodied with a great fruit intensity that effortlessly engulfs the palate with a savoury twist and lemony finish completing the wine.

Bizoe Wines

Winemaking is a true reflection of place and the person guiding the grapes into becoming wine. With Bizoe, nothing is orchestrated or contrived to serve current trends or jump on the bandwagon of popular styles. Instead, honesty and sincerity lie at the heart of these wines and the team’s aspiration to make the best wine they can. Provenance is treasured from sustainable farming practices, anticipating the flavours in what you taste in the vineyards, and translating a unique vintage into the character the wine itself decided to be.
