Besserat de Bellefon employs a unique Champagne-making method, adding less liqueur de tirage during bottling to create lighter, more diaphanous bubbles. The wine is aged for three years on lees, followed by a minimum of six months after disgorgement. Besserat de Bellefon was founded in 1843 by Edmond Besserat in Aÿ, a prominent Champagne village. The brand became known for its exceptional quality and traditional Champagne-making methods. In 1920, Victor Besserat married Yvonne de Méric de Bellefon, joining two prominent Champagne families and adding the "de Bellefon" name to the brand.
