Ideal with grilled lamb, venison, beef short ribs, pepper-crusted steak and hearty mushroom dishes. The wine’s spice and structure also complement Mediterranean cuisine.

The fruit is sourced from cool-climate Walker Bay vineyards, strongly influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. The maritime conditions provide slower ripening, helping preserve natural acidity and aromatic precision. Soils are predominantly shale and sandstone-derived, contributing mineral tension and structured tannins. Careful vineyard management ensures balanced yields and optimal phenolic ripeness.

Grapes are fermented using traditional red-wine vinification with controlled extraction to achieve depth without harshness. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is matured in French oak barrels, including a portion of new oak, for approximately 12–18 months. The oak regime is designed to enhance structure and complexity while maintaining varietal character.
