Sydneyback Kosher Chardonnay

Grapes were lightly pressed to preserve ripe tropical and citrus flavours. The juice was pasteurised at the juice stage to ensure kosher certification. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to retain fruit purity and freshness. The wine is Mevushal and certified kosher for Passover under the supervision of both the Cape Town Beth Din and the Orthodox Union (OU) of the United States. It is also suitable for vegans.

The grapes are sourced from a combination of younger vines and low-yielding older vineyards planted in sandy clay-loam soils in the Coastal Region. The 2023 growing season allowed for good flavour development while retaining natural acidity, ideal for producing a fresh, unoaked Chardonnay.

No oak maturation. The wine was bottled young to preserve freshness and varietal character. Best consumed within 2–3 years of vintage.
