Cultivar:

100% Pinot Noir

Rating:

16.5 Points - Jancis Robinson

Specifications:

14.00% alc vol Sugar g/l: N/A
Type: Red Wine Maturation Potential: 10 to 20 yrs
Origin: Wairarapa Appellation: Martinborough

Winemaker's comments:

Only the oldest and most revered parcels of fruit are used in this, our premium Pinot Noir. The fabled Abel clone, allegedly smuggled from Burgundy in the mid-70s, makes up 40% of the blend. The result is a very complex, structured wine, beautifully perfumed in the classic Ata Rangi style. Exotic spice, dark cherry and rose petal are offset by a more savoury array of aromas and flavours on the finish. This is a very complete and graceful wine; succulent and generous on the palate yet supple, sinewy, long and fine.

Winemaker's comments:

Wonderful ruby colour, this wine is very attractive in the glass. Delicate floral notes, rich wild berries with a spicy clove and cinnamon nose. Soft cherry and berries combine with savoury spice on the palate following into structured rounded tannins and a long dry finish.

Intensely aromatic with a blend of gooseberries, passionfruit and lime zest on the nose. A burst of concentrated gooseberry and passionfruit flavours leads to superb fruit richness and a long textural mouth feel with a clean limey dry finish.

Specifications:

13.50% alc vol Sugar g/l: N/A
Type: White Wine Maturation Potential: 10 yrs
Origin: Wairarapa Appellation: Martinborough

Winemaker's comments:

Lifted florals, notes of white peach and hints of freshly-baked brioche make a salivating first impression of this finely-tuned, cool climate Chardonnay. The entry is mouth-wateringly crisp and bright, then opens and fills out across the mid-palate with a lovely textural creaminess. The minerally, wet stone thread, hint of matchstick and hallmark grapefruit note are all distinctive markers of this maturing site.

96 Points - Decanter 94 Points - James Suckling

Specifications:

14.00% alc vol Sugar g/l: N/A
Type: Red Wine Maturation Potential: 10 yrs
Origin: Marlborough Appellation: Marlborough

Winemaker's comments:

Imagine a black forest gateaux made with marinated black cherries and very ripe blackberries, served with a little creamy vanilla custard. A highly perfumed style of Marlborough pinot featuring exotic fruit sweetness, a cedar-like spiciness and a delicate smoky scent reminiscent of lapsang souchong. The palate is dense and generous with ripe cherry-plum richness, some soft licorice and clove and a fine but voluptuous tannin structure.

Cultivar:

100% Sauvignon Blanc

Rating:

92 Points - Wine Enthusiast 94 Points - James Suckling 91 Points - Wine Spectator

Specifications:

13.50% alc vol Sugar g/l: N/A
Type: White Wine Maturation Potential: 5 yrs
Origin: Marlborough Appellation: Marlborough

Winemaker's comments:

Fermented entirely with naturally occurring yeast, this is an alternative style of sauvignon blanc that is both intricate and textural. An inviting combination of fragrant patisserie-like aromas and fresh herbs – the sweet scent of lemon meringue and apricot friand seems to meld with a tarragon-like herbal quality and a hint of smokiness. The palate is succulent and packed with stonefruit and vanilla, finishing crisp and long with a flinty dryness.
