12 Year Old Irish Whiskey

The Tullamore D.E.W. 12 Year Old Special Reserve greets you with a bouquet that is not overwhelmingly intense but features pleasant vanilla, smoky char from the bourbon barrels, and a deeper, sweeter profile influenced by sherry wood. These initial scents set the stage for a rich olfactory experience.

On tasting, it offers a mellow sweetness at the entry, transitioning to a profile enriched with butterscotch, citrus, and notes of brown sugar and figs. The complexity of flavours is balanced, reflecting the whiskey's maturation in both bourbon and sherry casks, which contribute to its richness.

The finish of this whiskey lingers, with a lasting presence of malt and spice that continues to evoke the richness of the flavours. The aftertaste brings out a nutty, dried fruit quality that lasts, making each sip rewarding.

Tullamore D.E.W. is a distinguished Irish whiskey brand named after the town of Tullamore in County Offaly, Ireland, where it's been crafted since 1829. The brand is known for being the original triple-distilled, triple-blend Irish whiskey. This process involves blending grain, malt, and pot still whiskeys, which are then matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks to create a smooth, complex flavour profile.
