Three Ships Cape Ruby Finish 13 Year Old Single Malt is a meticulously crafted whisky by Master Distiller Andy Watts. Initially matured for 8 years in American oak casks, it is then finished for 5 years in Cape Ruby casks, which impart a captivating complexity and a rich, mahogany color. This limited edition release of only 2,397 bottles is a collector's dream, offering a luxurious taste of South African innovation.
Nose:
The aroma is sweet and nutty, interwoven with subtle smoke, aged leather, and a touch of tobacco. There are also hints of strawberries and a faint floral note reminiscent of rose-flavored Turkish delight.
Palate:
On the palate, it offers a distinctive sweetness like hardboiled candy and buttery toffee, with ripe red fruit flavors and an earthy hay note. You will also find rich notes of Christmas fruitcake, honeyed sweetness, and toffee.
