Talisker Distillery, established in 1830, is the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Located in the remote village of Carbost, it is set on the shores of Loch Harport with dramatic views of the Cuillins. Talisker is renowned for its rugged, smoky character, shaped by the harsh conditions and marine influences of its coastal location. This unique environment imparts the whisky with its distinctive peppery, peaty flavor profile, often described as embodying the spirit of its wild surroundings.

Talisker 10 Year Old is highly regarded for its maritime qualities and robust flavor profile, making it a standout expression in the Talisker lineup. Its well-balanced nature combines classic Islay peat with unique characteristics brought by its coastal distillery location on the Isle of Skye.

Nose:

The aroma of Talisker 10 is complex, featuring a combination of salty, briny minerality and smoky elements reminiscent of a lingering campfire. There are also earthy tones, which evolve to include rosewater, honeysuckle, and sweet herbs as the whisky opens up.

Palate:

On the palate, this whisky starts with a pronounced oceanic influence, marked by seaweed, salt, and minerality, which swiftly transitions to honey and light orchard fruits. There are also notes of freshly baked bread and sweet cereal malt, creating a well-rounded taste.

Finish:

The finish is medium to long, with peat and smoke from the nose coming back to the forefront. It's accompanied by freshly cracked pepper and charcoal, ending on a dry note.
