Takamaka is a brand of rum that originates from the Seychelles, an archipelago in the Indian Ocean. It is produced by the Trois Frères Distillery on the main island of Mahé, which was founded by brothers Richard and Bernard d'Offay in 2002. The distillery is named after the Trois Frères (Three Brothers) mountain near their estate.
Takamaka Extra Noir is a rich and expressive rum from the Seychelles, known for its full-bodied and robust profile. This rum is a blend of pot and column distilled molasses, which is then infused with French oak and further matured with ex-bourbon wood, giving it a complex flavor profile.
Nose:
The rum opens with strong aromas of ripe mangoes and roasted nuts, complemented by underlying notes of brown cane sugar.
Palate:
It presents a soft and pleasant mouthfeel with distinct flavors of roasted oak, tropical fruits such as mango, nutty elements, and brown cane sugar, creating a rich and rounded taste.
