Stolichnaya, often referred to as Stoli, is a historic vodka brand with origins in the early 20th century, trademarked in 1938 in the Soviet Union. It's produced from a combination of wheat and rye grains. Initially controlled by the state, it was made at Moscow State Wine Warehouse No. 1. The production and control of the brand have seen significant changes, particularly post-Soviet Union dissolution when it was privatized and became part of the SPI Group, owned by Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler.
The Stolichnaya Harvey Milk Limited Edition vodka is a special release by Stoli to honor Harvey Milk, California's first openly gay elected official, and a prominent LGBTQ activist. This edition is part of Stoli's efforts to support LGBTQ initiatives globally, particularly in regions like Eastern Europe and the Baltic states. A portion of the sales from this special edition bottle is donated to the Harvey Milk Foundation, which works on LGBTQ education and coalition building.
