Passoa is a passion fruit liqueur that was first created in 1985 by the Rémy Cointreau group and officially launched in the European market in 1986. The brand is known for its deep red color and is made using passion fruit juice as its primary ingredient, sourced from Brazil. Initially owned by Rémy Cointreau, Passoa has since become part of a joint venture established in December 2016 between Lucas Bols and Rémy Cointreau. This partnership aimed to further expand the brand's reach, which is now a prominent feature in markets like Western Europe, Japan, Puerto Rico, and the U.S.
Passoa Passion Fruit Liqueur is recognized for its vibrant red color and its refreshing light taste. The dominant flavors are passion fruit and citrus, which create a bright and inviting profile. It has a notably sweet character with hints of candied watermelon, along with floral and other tropical nuances. On the palate, it carries a bright passion fruit flavor, enhanced with notes of orange and a touch of alcohol warmth on the finish.
