Kamiki is a unique Japanese whisky that integrates traditional Japanese craftsmanship with innovative maturation techniques. Distilled in the ancient city of Nara, known for its deep spiritual history, Kamiki is aged in Yoshino Sugi casks (Japanese cedar), which is quite rare in whisky production. This method imparts a distinctive smooth texture and a complex flavour profile that includes notes of sandalwood, green tea, and hints of sweet spices. Kamiki also undergoes a secondary maturation process in Sakura wood casks, adding layers of floral and fruity notes to the whisky.
Kamiki Blended Malt Whisky offers a rich and intricate tasting experience, marked by its unique finishing in Japanese cedar casks. The nose opens with an alluring mix of fragrant citrus blossom and baked apple, accompanied by subtler notes of balsa wood and dry peat, setting a fragrant and inviting stage. On the palate, it presents a floral forefront that gracefully transitions to deeper notes of forest floor, apricot, and kumquat, adding layers of depth and complexity. The finish is gentle yet distinct, with a slight peppery spice, earthy vanilla, and a lingering hint of pine, which reflects the aromatic influence of the cedar casks. This whisky is a testament to the harmony of traditional Japanese craftsmanship and international whisky styles.
