Glen Scotia is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery located in the historic whisky-producing region of Campbeltown, located on the Kintyre Peninsula. Our distillery has an illustrious past and rich history, with our story beginning in 1832. Our distillery still maintains much of its original design, including the fermenters, stillhouse and Dunnage Warehouse. Glen Scotia offers a variety of expressions, both peated and unpeated single malts, including core range releases, limited editions and unique single casks. A dram of Glen Scotia single malt is a window through time to a traditional Campbeltown signature whisky.
Glen Scotia 18 Year Old is celebrated for its finely balanced flavour profile, achieved through a combination of initial aging in American oak and a finishing period in Oloroso sherry casks.
Nose:
The whisky opens with a rich and inviting aroma of honey and vanilla, punctuated by sultanas and a subtle rum-like quality, alongside a refreshing sea breeze and a hint of cherry.
Palate:
It features a diverse palate that includes citrus peels, more pronounced dried fruit sweetness, and salted caramel, with mature oak and a hint of black tea adding depth.
Finish:
The finish is complex and satisfying with notes of ginger, milk chocolate, oatcakes, and raisins, rounding out a well-structured tasting experience.
