11 Year Old “Ambrosial Feast”

The aroma is fresh and inviting, with bright notes of green apple and citrus that leap from the glass. Subtle hints of creamy vanilla and nutty undertones add complexity, while delicate floral notes weave through, creating a beautifully balanced bouquet.

On the palate, this whisky reveals its creamy texture, with flavors of ripe green apples and toasted almonds. The initial sweetness is complemented by a gentle spiciness, with whispers of cinnamon and white pepper enhancing the experience. The nutty profile evolves, offering a rich depth that lingers with each sip.

The finish is medium in length, characterized by a harmonious blend of baking spices, coffee, and wine tannins. A delicate warmth persists on the palate as it fades.

Caol Ila was founded to the North of Islay in 1846 by the pleasingly-named Hector Henderson. It is located near Port Askaig and sits in lush, floral surroundings, overlooking the cove and the Paps of southern Jura. The distillery draws its water from Loch Nam Ban, whose waters travel through limestone and peat before reaching their beneficiary, Caol Ila.
