Bruichladdich Distillery is a distillery on the Rhinns of the isle of Islay in Scotland. The distillery produces mainly single malt Scotch whisky, but has also offered artisanal gin. It is owned by Rémy Cointreau and is one of nine working distilleries on the island.
Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie is celebrated for its unpeated style, showcasing a different side of Islay whiskies. It's crafted using 100% Scottish barley and matured in a variety of casks including ex-bourbon and ex-wine casks, which contribute to its complex and multifaceted flavor profile.
Nose:
The Classic Laddie offers a delightful aromatic blend of caramel, honey, and orchard fruits like peach, complemented by tropical fruit notes and a hint of baking spices. There's also an undercurrent of floral tones, making the nose bright and lively.
Palate:
On the palate, this whisky presents a rich cereal base with highlights of malty graham, vanilla, and honey. It also features a blend of fruity and floral flavors, including hints of salted and buttered sourdough, which adds depth and complexity.
Finish:
The finish is medium in length, offering a mix of red wine, cream sauce, and caramel, with a touch of plum to round out the experience. The finish also has a subtle smokiness, which is a nod to its Islay roots.
