Gold Bourbon

Blanton's Gold opens with a rich and enticing aroma that combines caramel sweetness with lighter, almost fluffy notes reminiscent of caramel candyfloss. It's infused with complex layers of baking spices, cinnamon, chai tea, lemon meringue, sherbet, and freshly baked croissants, giving it a fresh and vibrant olfactory profile.

The palate is classic bourbon, deep with caramel, toffee, and dark fruits which are incredibly sweet, alongside honeycomb and treacle notes. Despite its 103 proof, it maintains a remarkably light feel but doesn't skimp on flavour, offering creamy vanilla alongside the sweetness.

The finish features a lingering spice that defines this bold bourbon. Expect a pleasant slow burn that engulfs the palate, incorporating subtle rye, charred aged wood, leather, and honey elements, with a dry heat that stays for a noticeable duration.

Blanton's is a distinguished bourbon whiskey brand known for introducing the world's first commercial single-barrel bourbon in 1984, a concept pioneered by master distiller Elmer T. Lee. This innovation marked a significant shift in the bourbon industry, introducing a super-premium category. Blanton's bourbon is celebrated for its rich complexity and flavour, which varies by barrel due to the single-barrel process. It is distilled at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, and aged in Warehouse H, which was uniquely built with metal walls that amplify temperature fluctuations, enhancing the aging process.
