Balblair is one of the most northern distilleries of Scotland. It lies right next to the Dornoch Firth and was established in 1790. The distillery character is best described as 'very fruity and sweet Speyside Malt'. Balblair means fertile valley, but also battlefield. This is traceable to a battle between the Picts and the Vikings many centuries ago.
Balblair 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky offers a rich and complex profile that's been well-received for its quality. It has been matured in American oak bourbon casks before finishing in first-fill Spanish oak butts, giving it a unique character.
Nose:
The whisky opens with aromas of leatherwood honey and spicy gingerbread, complemented by juicy prunes and fresh lemon peel, creating a rich and inviting bouquet.
